Learning outcomes:
The course proposes the understanding of the concepts specific to the field of psycho-sociological competence in an interdisciplinary interpretation, by corroboration with the conceptual and methodological area proper to urban research. The humanistic component of the urban phenomenon - urban life - is discussed; the redefinition of this reference urban component, through the nuanced knowledge of its content structure and the specific means of manifestation. The general theme of the course is articulated to the current urban planning theory and practice, especially developing, as a research benchmark, "life in the built space".

The current demands in urban research highlight the complex character of the specific issue. The extension of the referential framework through the joint study of the "Social Space" with the "Urban Built Space" conditions the knowledge and understanding in a new paradigm of the human presence in the built environment. The appeal to the new psycho-urbanistic theories, to theoretical and practical experiences in the field of urban planning is organically included in the doctoral study.
