Department:
Urban and Landscape Design
Course Leader:
prof.dr.arh. Angelica Stan
Learning outcomes:
The course aims to develop the understanding of the way of formation and the dynamics of the peripheral areas of the contemporary city, by identifying the problem of the urban periphery in the morpho-spatial and functional context of the territory. The outskirts of the city is seen both as a place and as a distinct phenomenon related to the growth/advance/contraction movement of the urban towards/into the territory, making possible the dialogue or dispute between the city and the landscape at the scale of the entire spatial-territorial system. The course also pursues the development of a personalized perceptive vision of the peripheral urban space, seen as a complex evolutionary process, highlighted by the multiple poses of the limit - disappeared/hidden/found or possibly reinvented.
