Since 2005-2006, the ECTS credits are used in UAUIM as in all higher education institutions in Romania. ECTS credits allocation is based on the student workload needed in order to achieve expected learning outcomes.
Credits and previous learning are recognized according to the European practice and the UAUIM’s own regulations.
All disciplines are half-yearly. Each semester has 14 weeks of teaching activities. The assessment generally includes continuous and final evaluation procedures. During an academic year there are three examination periods: in January-February, in June-July and in September. For each theoretical discipline, two final examinations are set in two consecutive examination periods. The assessment of the design studio works follows specific procedures and regulations. The grades follow a scale from 1 to 10; the minimum grade to pass an exam is 5, except particular cases stipulated by specific regulations; for the graduation exam the minimum grade is 6.
The regulations of each Faculty stipulate the maximum number of lacking ECST credits accepted to enrol in the upper year of study. In order to retrieve missing ECTS credits, students have to follow a special registration procedure at the respective teaching Departments, within the scheduled period (usually during the first month of the semester when the module will be taught).
